What is the MDG eGift Voucher and eCoupon platform?

M.D. Gunasena eGift Voucher is the digital version of our traditional physical gift voucher. The platform has made it possible for us to automate the process of creating, optimizing and distributing / selling eGift Vouchers to customers. Now you can simply buy or send eGift Vouchers to your loved ones via your Mobile phone or Email through this system.
The platform can now send eCoupons for various offers to customers via SMS and Emails, where customers can now redeem these discounts on their favourite books and stationery.

Do I Need to Register to either Buy or Gift an eGift Voucher?

Yes, you do need to Register. All you need to do is to visit the evoucher.lk. You could then create an account by pressing the signup button. For registration, we require you to fill in your First and last name along with your email address and your mobile number. The system will then verify your mobile number using an OTP. After successfully registering, you in the system, you can then login to your account where you will see your personal dashboard.

How do I Buy or Gift an eGift Voucher?

Once you visit the site evoucher.lk, You have two options available to you. 1) Buy a gift voucher for yourself or 2) Gift an eGift voucher to a loved one or a friend. You also have the option of selecting a design and customizing a message along with adding a face value for the eGift Voucher. You can then simply add the recipient’s email address and the mobile number to send the eGift voucher via SMS or an email. Once you login to your account you could view the transaction history on your dashboard. Furthermore, the moment you complete your purchase you will receive an email and a SMS to notify you that you have purchased an eGift Voucher. If you decide to gift an eGift voucher the same process applies.

Do I need to register the recipient if I am gifting the eGift Voucher?

You do not have to register the recipient. All you need to do is to include the recipient’s mobile number. Once gifted the system will automatically send the eGift voucher to the recipient along with the necessary information as a proof of the gift.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept credit / Debit cards, EZcash, MCash, Genie, FriMi and Sampath App Payment.

Where can I redeem the eGift Vouchers / eCoupon?

You can now redeem our eGift vouchers at any of our 16 Retail outlets, Gurulugomi – Epub Platform, Iread - Home Delivery Service and the Online Store – www.mdgunasena.com. The eGift Vouchers cannot be used on any other platform other than against the products and service we offer. Please refer to the terms and conditions.

How do I redeem the eGift Vouchers?

When you visit any of our retail stores and have completed your purchases, just simply mention to the cashier that you would like to redeem your eGift Voucher. The system will generate a One Time Password (OTP) to your mobile phone. This password will verify the eGift Voucher in order to complete the transaction. It is that simple.
If you were to shop on any of our Online Platforms - Gurulugomi – Epub Platform, Iread - Home Delivery Service and the Online Store – www.mdgunasena.com, at the checkout process you will be prompted to pay for the transaction using an eGift Voucher. There again you will be asked to enter the One Time Password (OTP) into the system to complete you order process. It is that simple.

Can I cancel an eGift Voucher and get a Refund?

We regret to inform you that you cannot cancel an eGift Voucher and we do NOT allow any refunds. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

What happens if the eGift Voucher / eCoupon notifications via email / SMS is deleted by mistake?

You could reach us and leave a feedback here and we'll reach out to you to resolve your issue by making every effort to resend you the notification.

Are there any other fees associated with the eGift Voucher?

We do not charge any other incidental charges / commission. You will only have to pay the face value of the eGift Voucher. Please note that this are no shipping charges involved as this is a eGift Voucher / eCoupon Platform

Can I change the value of an eGift Voucher after I have purchased it?

We regret to inform you that we do not allow a customer to change the face value as it has already been validated by the system.

Do the eGift Vouchers / ECoupons have an Expiry Date?

We are happy to let you know that there is no expiry date on the eGift Vouchers. However, the Discount eCoupons will have an expiry date mentioned at the time we send them out. Please refer to the Terms and Conditions.

Can an eGift Voucher / eCoupon be printed and Physically presented?

Currently we do not allow or accept a printed eGift Voucher / eCoupon.

Can I send eGift vouchers to multiple recipients at the same time (Mail Merge)?

The System does not allow you to send eGift Vouchers to multiple recipients at the same time. However, you can send to multiple recipients one email at a time.

As a Corporate Customer can we purchases eGift vouchers?

The System does support Corporate orders. Please press here and follow the directions. You may also press the Corporate Button available on the main menu on the home page.

Is this a Secure Platform where my person details and credit card information is only used for the intend purpose?

All personal and financial information is transmitted using https protocol over a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), utilizing state of the art technology for consumer protection. In addition your web browser will be sending all personal and financial information over SSL. The eGift Voucher purchase process is fully PCI compliant.
